Junior Enforcers Add Forward Joe Thompson

Junior Enforcers Director Of Scouting, Nick Pagliacci, announced today that Elmira has signed 5’8 135 Ib forward Joe Thompson of Rock Island, Illinois. Thompson spent the 2021/22 season playing for the Quad City Ice Eagles 18u squad as a 17-year-old where he posted 11 goals and 4 assists in just 15 games. COVID played a major factor in the shortened campaign, but the Ice Eagles still managed to finish second in the state of Illinois. Playing in Quad City, Thompson is no stranger to playing in a professional rink having practiced often and even played on the rink at Taxslayer Center, the home of the SPHL’s Quad City Storm. His experiences should lead him to have an immediate impact on the 2022/23 Junior Enforcers.

“Hockey has always been my biggest passion in life” commented Thompson. “Playing professionally has always been of my biggest goals, and I feel the Junior Enforcers organization is the next step in the journey to help me get closer to achieving that goal. I’m super excited to get started in Elmira!”

“Joe is a young player who we’re excited to work with” said Pagliacci. “He has the drive and work ethic needed to succeed at this level.”

The Junior Enforcers organization wrapped up summer main camp on Sunday, June 5th where 9 total players across the Elite and Premier teams were offered contracts for the upcoming season. 2022/23 player announcements and signing videos will continue throughout the summer, and the season schedule will be ready in a few weeks.
